Alexander (or Sandy) Taylor was five years old when the Seatown of Muchalls was abandoned. He moved from Muchalls to Skateraw with his mother after his father had been lost at sea. In 1806, at the age of 53, he moved with his sons David, John and James from Skateraw to Cowie. David later became a fisherman in Catterline, later again moving to Gourdon. The rest remained in Cowie, their descendants being the nine fishermen named Taylor in the 1841 Census for the Fishtown of Cowie. |
