| Kirk Session563 CH2/498/5 1852 March 14th Sdt J Middleton, Jas Shepard, Geo Watts, Geo Hunter Rt Mearns, Geo Donald Elders with the Mod and Clerk. Compeared Margaret Adam who confessed that she had been guilty of the sin of fornication. On being asked with whom she replied with James Brown widower, a journeyman shoemaker in Bricewell Fetteresso. The session agreed that the kirk session of Fetteresso should be addicled (?) in order that the said James Brown might be summonised to appear before the kirk session hence one Sunday 28th inst immediately after devine service when the said Margaret Adam was also summonised (apiuol ada) to appear. 1852 March 28th Compeared Margaret Adam who adheared to her former confession and declarations. Compeared also James Brown who confessed that he had been guilty with her. After rebuke and exhornation they were absolved from the scandal and dismissed from church disciplines. | ||||||||||||||||||
