The sewing facilities.

Since the start in 1995 the sewing activities have gradually increased.

The building for the sewing was established in 1995 in the area of the centre. Today it contains fifteen industrial sewing machines.

To the left: Women given lectures in the sewing room at the Centre.

A professional designer trains the women in the art of sewing for a period of six months that is finished off with an examination.

For these women with no schooling passing the examination is precious.

It is a unique milestone in their lives and of greatest importance to their self-respect.

Also for the centre as a whole this is a significant moment and therefore celebrated accordingly.

Also for the centre as a whole this is a significant moment and therefore celebrated accordingly.

The establishing of the sewing centre has not enables the training of the women but also resulted in manufacturing of clothes.

The products are sold to commercial companies.

Through the training and the business activities at the Centre the women benefit from earning their own money and achieving self-respect, which cannot be measured in money nor be expressed in words.

They can use their knowledge in many ways, for example finding work outside the Centre.
